Although sometimes it is called hip-hop music, hip-hop itself is not music. It is undoubtedly a culture and movement consisting of 4 elements: RAP, DJ, Breakdance and graffiti. It has its beginnings in the 70s in NY among the African American community. The music in hip-hop culture is rap.
Rap –
The music is characterized by a strong rhythm (beat) for which the key is the text layer, which can be improvised (freestyle). The lyrics are often autobiographical in nature, describing current events or politics, but not only. The lyrics are rhymed.
